⚠ Important Guidance

Responsible Gambling — Playing Safe Matters

Gambling should always be entertainment — never a way to earn money or escape problems. This page covers the tools, habits and warning signs every Pakistani player needs to understand before and during any gambling activity.

Adults 18+ Only — or the higher minimum required by the operator/license jurisdiction

The Foundation of Responsible Play

Before engaging with any gambling platform, every player should understand these six principles. They are not optional extras — they are the baseline.

Only Bet What You Can Afford to Lose

Set a gambling budget in PKR before you start — treat it as entertainment spending, not investment. Whether it's Rs 500 or Rs 5,000, that amount must be money you are genuinely comfortable losing in full. Never gamble with money allocated for rent, food, school fees or essential bills.

Set Time Limits Every Session

Gambling platforms are designed to be engaging. Set a hard time limit before you begin — 30 minutes, one hour, whatever works for you — and stop when that time is up, regardless of whether you are winning or losing. Most licensed platforms offer session time reminders and limits you can activate.

Never Chase Losses

Chasing losses — increasing bet sizes or continuing to play in an attempt to recover money already lost — is one of the most common and dangerous patterns in problem gambling. If you have hit your loss limit for the session, stop. Losses already placed cannot be reliably recovered by gambling more.

Never Gamble Under Stress or Distress

Gambling while anxious, under financial pressure, emotionally distressed or under the influence of alcohol leads to poor decisions. PSL matches and live betting can be exciting, but excitement should not override rational decision-making. If you are not in a calm, clear-headed state, do not gamble.

Understand the Odds

The house always has a mathematical edge — that is how gambling works. There is no betting system, strategy or pattern that reliably overcomes this over the long run. Understanding that outcomes are based on probability and chance — not skill or effort — is fundamental to responsible gambling.

Keep Gambling in Balance

Gambling should occupy a small, clearly defined part of your leisure time — not dominate it. If you find yourself thinking about gambling when you should be working, studying or spending time with family in Lahore, Karachi or anywhere else, that is a warning sign worth taking seriously.

Responsible Gambling Tools You Should Use

Most internationally licensed gambling platforms offer a suite of player protection tools. These are not just features — they are safeguards. Use them proactively, not reactively.

Deposit Control
Deposit Limits

Set a maximum PKR amount you can deposit within a defined time period — daily, weekly or monthly. Once set, the limit typically takes effect immediately. Reducing a limit usually applies straight away; increasing it often involves a mandatory waiting period to protect against impulsive decisions. Use this tool before your first deposit.

Loss Control
Loss Limits

A loss limit caps the amount you can lose within a set period. When the limit is reached, your account is automatically restricted from further play until the period resets. This is particularly useful for protecting against the urge to chase losses during a bad run — whether during a Pakistan cricket match or a casino session.

Time Control
Session Time Limits & Reminders

Set a maximum duration for each gambling session. Many platforms also send reality-check notifications at regular intervals — for example every 30 minutes — reminding you of how long you have been playing and how much you have spent or won. These prompts are easy to dismiss but worth heeding.

Cooling Off
Cool-Off Periods

If you want a short break from gambling, a cool-off period temporarily suspends your account — typically for 24 hours, 48 hours, one week or one month. During a cool-off you cannot deposit or place bets. This tool is useful when you recognise signs of fatigue or impulsive behaviour in yourself.

Wager Control
Wager / Bet Limits

Some platforms allow you to set a maximum stake per bet or per spin. This restricts the size of individual wagers regardless of session bankroll, helping to extend your playing time and reduce the risk of placing a single impulsive large bet — such as a last-minute ICC match accumulator at high stakes.

Self-Exclusion
Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is the strongest player protection tool available. When you self-exclude, your account is closed and you cannot open a new account for the duration of the exclusion — which may range from several months to permanently. Self-exclusion should be used without hesitation if gambling has started to cause harm. Contact your platform's support team to activate it.

Important: Tool availability, names and processing times vary by platform. Always check the responsible gambling section of the specific platform you use. 92pkri does not operate a gambling platform and cannot activate or administer any of these tools on your behalf.

Signs That Gambling May Be Becoming a Problem

Problem gambling often develops gradually. These warning signs can appear in your own behaviour or in someone you know. Recognising them early is the first step toward addressing them.

Spending more money on gambling than originally planned, or more than you can comfortably afford.

Gambling to escape stress, anxiety, boredom, loneliness or emotional problems.

Feeling irritable, restless or anxious when not gambling, or when trying to cut back.

Chasing losses — continuing to gamble or increasing bet sizes to try to recover previous losses.

Lying to family, friends or colleagues in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi or elsewhere about gambling activity or the money spent.

Borrowing money, selling possessions or taking other financial risks specifically to fund gambling.

Gambling taking priority over work, studies, family time or other responsibilities.

Thinking about gambling constantly — when to gamble next, how to get money for gambling, replaying past bets.

Quick Self-Assessment Questions

Answer these questions honestly. If you answer "yes" to several of them, it may be worth reflecting on your relationship with gambling and considering speaking to a support professional.

1

Have you ever spent more on gambling than you intended or could afford?

2

Have you ever gambled to recover money you previously lost?

3

Have you ever lied to someone close to you about your gambling or gambling spending?

4

Have you ever borrowed money or sold something to fund gambling?

5

Do you feel restless, irritable or anxious when you try to cut back or stop gambling?

6

Has gambling ever negatively affected your work, studies, relationships or finances?

7

Do you find it difficult to stop gambling once you have started a session?

8

Have you ever used gambling as a way to cope with stress, anxiety or emotional problems?

This self-assessment is for awareness purposes only — it is not a clinical diagnostic tool. If your answers concern you, please seek guidance from a qualified support professional.

How Player Limits Actually Work

Licensed gambling platforms are required by their regulators to offer player limit tools. Understanding how each type works helps you choose the right combination for your own situation — and use them before a problem develops, not after.

For Pakistani players who manage budgets carefully — whether by daily income, weekly salary or monthly PKR allowances — these tools directly mirror good household budgeting habits. Apply the same discipline to gambling that you would to any other discretionary spend.

Set your limits before your first deposit — not after your first losing session. Proactive limits are far more effective than reactive ones.

Daily Deposit Limit

Caps the total amount you can deposit across 24 hours. Example: a PKR 2,000 daily deposit limit means you cannot fund your account with more than Rs 2,000 in any given day.

Weekly Deposit Limit

Caps total deposits across a rolling 7-day period. Useful for players who may not hit a daily limit but could accumulate large deposits over several days.

Loss Limit (Daily / Weekly / Monthly)

Automatically suspends play when your net losses in the period reach the set amount. Prevents continued play during a losing streak.

Session Time Limit

Ends or suspends your session after a set duration — typically 30 minutes to several hours. Some platforms log you out automatically; others send a notification.

Maximum Single Bet / Stake Limit

Prevents any single wager exceeding a defined amount. Helps avoid impulsive large bets, particularly during live in-play sports betting on Pakistan cricket or PSL T20 matches.

Self-Exclusion (Short-term or Permanent)

The most powerful tool. Account closure for a defined period or permanently, with strong restrictions on re-registration. Use this if other tools are not working.

Understanding Pakistan's Gambling Laws

Pakistan has gambling restrictions under the Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977. The legal status of online and remote gambling for Pakistani residents is complex and may depend on applicable federal and provincial law and jurisdiction.

92pkri does not assert that online gambling is lawful in Pakistan, nor does it assert that it is unlawful. Users across Pakistan — whether in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar or elsewhere — are solely responsible for determining whether their use of any gambling platform is lawful in their specific location before participating.

92pkri does not claim any endorsement, licence or approval from the Government of Pakistan, PTA, State Bank of Pakistan or any provincial authority. This page is general educational information — it is not legal advice. Users who are uncertain about their legal position should seek independent legal advice from a qualified professional in Pakistan.

Not Legal Advice. The above is general information only. 92pkri does not advise you to engage in gambling activities. Understanding and complying with applicable local law is entirely the responsibility of each user.

Where to Get Help

If gambling has stopped being entertainment and started causing harm, reaching out for support is the right next step. The following types of resources exist in the operator licence jurisdiction context. Contact details should be verified independently.

Helplines & Crisis Support

Many licensed operators provide access to problem gambling helplines as part of their responsible gambling programme. These are typically free, confidential and available around the clock. Check the responsible gambling section of the platform you use for the helpline contact associated with their licence jurisdiction.

In Pakistan, mental health support services are available through various hospitals and NGOs. Speak to a healthcare professional if gambling is affecting your mental health.

Counselling & Therapy

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other structured counselling approaches have a strong evidence base for addressing problem gambling. Many licensed operators provide access to counselling referrals through their responsible gambling partners. These resources are often free to access for registered players.

Availability and access to counselling services varies. Check the responsible gambling section of your platform for details.

Family & Peer Support

Problem gambling affects not just the individual but the people around them — family members, partners and close friends. If someone you know is showing signs of problem gambling, support organisations often provide resources for family members and loved ones, not just the person directly experiencing difficulties.

Having an honest conversation with a trusted person is often the most important first step.

If you are in crisis: If gambling is causing you serious harm — financial, emotional or physical — please stop gambling immediately and seek appropriate support. Contact a healthcare professional, a trusted person in your life, or the responsible gambling support service associated with the platform you use. You do not need to face this alone.

Keeping Minors Safe

All content on 92pkri is intended strictly for adults aged 18 and above, or the higher minimum age required by the operator or licence jurisdiction. Minors must not access this site or any gambling platform.

Being 18+ does not automatically make gambling lawful in Pakistan — local laws must be understood and respected. Parents and guardians in Pakistani households are encouraged to use parental control software to restrict access to gambling websites if minors are present in the home.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has accessed gambling content or a gambling platform, contact the platform's support team immediately and request account review. Self-exclusion tools can also be used to restrict account access across devices.

Strictly Adults Only
  • Minimum age: 18 years, or higher as required by the operator or licence jurisdiction
  • Age verification is required by licensed operators before account activation
  • Never share your gambling account credentials with anyone under 18
  • Use device parental controls to restrict access to gambling websites in shared households
  • If you discover a minor has opened or used a gambling account, report it to the operator immediately
  • 92pkri does not knowingly serve content to anyone under 18 years of age
